The origin of California Restaurant starts with family. In 1968 a Macedonian family opened California Restaurant after immigrating from the village of Mariovo, Macedonia. Family is the founding pillar of California Restaurant and continues to be so today.
The restaurant began as the neighbourhood diner in Pape Village. Milan Jurtovski was the original owner who later on passed his business to his son Smile (Sam) and his wife Keti. When the Jurtovski family were ready to retire they chose to offer their business to another Macedonian family. In 2006, our family was offered to take over their business and to continue on their legacy with our own personalized twist.
Our menu represents our commitment to fresh food made with love. Specializing in the cuisine of mother Balkans. We strive to capture the spirit of Europe through our homestyle dishes and diverse wine pairings, including wines and spirits from various European countries.
